Here’s some exciting news: a story of mine was included in a Mother’s Day anthology! The book is called “A Kind of Mad Courage” and it features short stories about every age and stage of motherhood, written by 19 different authors.
The stories in this collection range from laugh-out-loud funny to harrowing and everything in between. There’s something here for everyone: from stories of birth, to the toddler years, to those crazy teen years and beyond. All of these moms face incredible difficulties while still trying to be their kids’ first and best teachers. Like any mother can tell you, “motherhood isn’t for sissies.” As you read these wonderful stories, you’ll definitely get a sense of why that’s so true.
All of the proceeds from the sale of this book go to the Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation, an organization that helps people facing the many trials of living with Auto-Immune diseases.
The mission from our editor was this: write a 5,000 — 10,000 word fictional story about motherhood in less than six weeks. Since I love a good writing challenge, I was in. I feel very fortunate to have been included with this group of talented authors.
